Degree Programs

Bachelor of Science Degree Program

The Bachelor of Science Degree Program is composed of two segments:

  • pre-dental hygiene
  • professional dental hygiene

Pre-dental hygiene is comprised of four academic semesters, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university. Credits will be accepted from other pre-dental hygiene curricula upon approval of the Program Director.

Applications for the professional portion of the program must be submitted to the Dental Hygiene Program by February 1 of the year the student wishes to enter.

An interview will be granted to those who meet the following requirements:

  • admission application to ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï if not currently enrolled.
  • completion of pre-dental hygiene curriculum, including a minimum of 20 science hours and a total of 40 overall hours by date of application.
  • a 2.75 overall grade point average or above in their college courses with the exception of remedial courses.
  • Submission of official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended - 1 official sealed set to ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Admissions Office and 1 official sealed set to Dental Hygiene Program (700 University Ave, 210 Caldwel Hall, Monroe LA 71209-0420) Attn: Kim Whorton, Program Director.
  • Submission of ATDH scores. Recommended score of 300 or better.
